A Super Coincidence
One bright and sunny Spring morning, Madison, the energetic, precious baby girl sprouted out of her crib. Mona, the Mother was surprised as Madison crawled into the kitchen. She was watching her favorite news station, Channel 7. Mason, the Maltese/Pug/Lab mix sprawled lazily on the cool tile floor, under Madison's highchair. Max, the Dad, who is a scientist had left already for work on his motorcycle. The baby was very hungry, so the Mom picked her up and placed her into her highchair. She then took the baby's formula packet and mixed it with water. Madison grabbed her bottle and sucked her milk and when she was finished she turned it upside down and a drop of milk fell to the floor. Mason jumped up and licked it dry! Suddenly, the baby tottered through her straps and slid onto the dog. Oh my, recklessly both baby and dog formed a magical, mystical, enchanted duo. They both vanished!
Meanwhile, Mom is sipping her coffee as she is eating her maple brown sugar oatmeal by the kitchen counter. She is mesmerized as she is watching Bill Evans talk about the warm weather approaching. All of a sudden, she notices that Madison and Mason are missing. She panics and drops her coffee. Mom looks everywhere and picks up her cell phone about to call her Husband Max. Abruptly, she turns toward the T.V., "YIKES.......
What is Madison and Mason doing on Channel 7 News with Bill?"
Suddenly, the door opened. It was Max. Mona crossed her arms and looked at Max. "What just happened?" Mona asked quietly."Well...wh...I...sorta, kinda, maaaaybe gave Mason a teleportation potion without telling you.""WHAT!?" cried Mona."The point of the potion was to keep Mason and Madison away from danger.""YOU GAVE MADISON THE POTION TOO!?" yelled Mona even louder than before."Ummm yeah?" muttered Max."Grrrrr." was all Mona could say. This was the first time Mona was ever THIS mad. "How did this even happen in the first place? There was no danger!""There must have been something to set it off. Fire? Loud noises? Anything come to mind?" asked Max."Well, the volume on TV was pretty loud. Bill Evans reported on a dangerous situation in the neighborhood. Maybe the word danger set it off." said Mona."We HAVE to get them back" said Max.Mona and Max each take a dose of the potion which looks like milk. They teleport into the T.V. They eventually get to Channel 7 news, but they can't find Madison and Mason anywhere! They hear their laughter and barking, but still don't know where in the studio they are.
Madison's laugh and Mason's bark grew louder and louder.
Bill Evens announced, "Hey, there's a big commotion in Room 6!"
Max the dad, and Mona the mom, rushed down the hall. As they opened the door they noticed a TV screen with news coming in There had been an earthquake. The "danger" caused the family to teleport again! This time they found themselves in another country. Max started to seriously regret experimenting with his top secret potion on the family.
Mona screamed, "Max, I'm scared! Our family is now IN danger instead of escaping from it! I never knew your job at NASA would cause all this!" Max replied, "I know Mona. I'm sorry! I was just trying to protect Madison."
Just then a drop from the baby's bottle found its way down into a crack below them.
Unexpectedly, a whole entire family appeared right beside them! The droplet of teleportation potion dropped right onto the trapped family. The top secret potion brought the family up to safety. Max realized what he needed to do. He picked up his cell phone and called NASA right away.
*Five Hours Later…* “Oh they are here!” said Max “No, it’s just a plane!” shouted Mona.
*Another Five Hours Later…* “I really I think this is them!!” screamed Max. “It’s just another plane,” squeaked Madison. Everyone looked at Madison with a puzzled look. “When did she learn to speak she’s a baby!” yelled the family.
*Three Hours Later…* “This has got to be them they promised me they’d be here in a jiff!” said Max with a hopeful look. “Nope, a jet.” baby Peter said in a whisper. Both families looked at him shocked… “Did he…” “I think so…” said Luke and Joann
*Twenty Minutes Later* “IT REALLY IS THEM!!!!! WE ARE ON OUR WAY BACK TO NEW JERSEY FROM EUROPE!!!” hollered Max at the top of his lungs!
Both families hopped onto the giant silver shuttle with the huge red and blue letters N A S A. NASA had sent a shuttle to pick up both families and bring them to safety. Luckily the earthquake only did a little damage and all the other families were safe. “We are the Turtle family. I am Luke this is my wife Joann, our son Peter, and our dog Elizabeth.” “How can we ever repay you!” said Joann hugging everyone. “No, need to repay us, we are just thankful to be together and that everyone is safe!” said Max.
Both families realized they had a lot in common. Max and Luke were both scientists. Joann and Mona both were teachers and loved helping their families. Peter and Madison were both one year and two days old. Elizabeth and Mason were both Maltese/Pug/Lab mixes but couldn’t seem to get along no matter what. All of a sudden the shuttle began to shake like a leaf on their way back to New Jersey. A bright light shined on the shuttle and both families magically transformed into crime fighting superheroes! Max’s cell phone rang and Luke’s cell phone rang a minute later. They both were whispering and nobody heard exactly what they said. “It looks like we won’t be heading back home just yet…”
“Everybody, get together quickly so we can figure out a plan!” shouted Max, who had been transformed from a scientist in a white lab coat to the super hero, “Deadpool”. He couldn’t believe his wife, Mona, who was a Kindergarten teacher, was now dressed as “Black Widow”. Their dog, Mason, had also been transformed into “Laser Dog” with the ability to fly and shoot lasers from his ears! Their little baby girl, Madison, was now the most adorable little unicorn who had amazing the ability to destroy evil with her cuteness and rainbows. The Turtle family walked towards them, looking down at their costumes in disbelief. Baby Peter had turned into “Flash”. Luke was now the “Silver Surfer” and his wife, Joann, was “Hawkgirl”. Elizabeth, their dog, started barking at Mason because she didn’t like his ear lasers. She was now “AntDog” and had the ability to shrink and communicate with other dogs.
“Who called you, Max?” asked Luke in a panic.
Luke responded, “It was Evil Pegasus’s owner, Darkside, known for bringing sadness to many planets. He said – “Give me all your money, or I will capture your dogs and have Evil Pegasus take control of your shuttle”. Who called you?”
Max said, “It was a call from Rainbow Pegasus’s owner, Brightside, who said that he was sending Rainbow Pegasus to help us land safely.”
All of a sudden the shuttle was jolted. The superheroes fell to the ground. They got up and looked out the windows and saw, Evil Pegasus and Rainbow Pegasus charging at each other with their pointy, sharp horns.
The two Pegasuses suddenly stopped and there was a moment of silence. They remembered that they were sisters, separated a long time ago from their famous winged horse family. Dark Pegasus’s whole body turned into a light, beautiful rainbow body. At that very instant, their owners, Darkside and Brightside, on their distant home planets connected through Facetime and also realized that they were brothers who were separated when they were young boys. Darkside’s black cape turned into a dazzling white cape like the one that Brightside was wearing.
All the superheroes joined hands, and with the combined force of all their superhero strength, plus the strength of the Pegagus sisters, together, they landed the NASA shuttle safely in NJ. An enormous rainbow stretched over the horizon, reminding everyone of the good in the world.
